Leave-in additive to circulate residual debris

This product assists central heating filters and separators in the removal of system debris. Even in a cleaned system, there can be residual debris sat in low-flow areas. Sentinel X900 Filter Aid penetrates these deposits and lifts them into circulation, carrying them to the filter so that they can be removed.

Key features

  • Frees and lifts hidden debris
  • Increases capture of circulating solids by filter
  • Suitable for use with all filter types
  • Easy to dose
  • Compatible with corrosion and scale inhibitor additives
  • Helps restore and maintain system efficiency and effectiveness
  • Suitable for all metals including aluminium
  • Manufactured under a quality system conforming to ISO9001

It is now common practice to fit an in-line filter such as the Sentinel Eliminator on a central heating system to remove circulating debris, protecting components such as the boiler, preventing deposits from accumulating and causing problems. Sentinel X900 Filter Aid is designed to enhance the performance of central heating filters and separators by lifting deposits from less turbulent areas of the system where they can sometimes settle and transporting them to the filter for removal.

Important: This product is not a substitute for cleaning a dirty system. If your system has poor circulation and/or the radiators have cold spots, first thoroughly clean the system using a suitable Sentinel central heating cleaner.

Using X900 Filter Aid:

500ml liquid or 275ml gel of Sentinel X900 Filter Aid is sufficient for a typical domestic system of 8 to 10 radiator panels. It can be dosed in a number of ways:

Via Filter Pot: Where filter pot capacity is sufficient, follow these steps:

1. Turn off the heating system.

2. Isolate the filter from the circuit by closing the isolation valves either side of the unit.

3. Drain and dismantle the filter and clean it according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

4. Before reassembling the filter, add 1 500ml bottle of Sentinel X900 Filter Aid to the filter collection pot. If using Sentinel X900 Filter    Aid concentrate gel, use a suitable caulking gun to add 1 275ml cartridge to the collection pot.

5. Reassemble the filter and then open both isolation valves, ensuring no leaks.

Open Systems: Dose via the expansion cistern, via a by-pass feeder or use a Sentinel Dosing Vessel.

When using concentrate gel, add directly to the heating system either via a radiator air bleed valve, or via the fill loop using the appropriate adaptor and a suitable caulk gun.

Sealed Systems: If the system is empty, add to any convenient point before filling. If full, use a Sentinel Dosing Vessel to inject via the filling loop or other access point.

When using concentrate gel, add directly to the heating system either via a radiator air bleed valve, or via the fill loop using the appropriate adaptor and a suitable caulk gun.
