Customers keener than ever to learn how to clean, protect and maintain their heating systems

5 days. 2532 exhibitors. 190,000 guests. As ever, this year’s ISH was a roaring success. Here is the Sentinel summary of the world’s leading trade fair for the HVAC and water industries.

With 48% of the visitors coming from overseas, and a huge 66% of the exhibitors coming from overseas too, Sentinel’s international team was certainly kept busy during ISH.

In terms of the exhibitors, all bases were covered. Major players from across all industries, many markets were exhibiting modern yet simplistic innovations catering for multiple stakeholders, from industry and trade all the way through to homeowners. Sentinel’s stand was manned by representatives from the Germany, the Netherlands, the UK and Turkey.

Prevalent across the fair was the VDI 2035 initiative. This industry-standard benchmark is now an established part of water treatment in Germany and Europe, and something which Sentinel stand firmly behind. Sentinel are committed to spreading the water treatment message and educating professionals and homeowners alike, and this disseminates into our innovation and design, notably with our Rapid Dose and Eliminator Vortex filter products.

Of course, the theme of renewable energy was also prevalent across ISH. The sector is growing with every passing year and the renewable energy bubble continues to grow as the industry looks towards alternative energy sources, such as solar, geothermal and air sources.

Energy efficiency was a major theme at the exhibition, with a big focus on alternative heating resources like heat pumps. With every passing day, heat pumps are becoming more ergonomically and aesthetically friendly, and manufacturers are keen to present this to prospective buyers and clients alike.

Following on from the above, there were also lots of new methods to help protect these types of systems, including our own Eliminator Vortex magnetic filter, on display. Ongoing protection is crucial to maintaining a system’s efficiency and performance, and the filter market, across many different system types and sizes, has seen an increase in recent years.

As expected, ‘smart’ elements were another dominant theme. There is a rapidly emerging shift towards smart and more efficient homes, so the ability to link devices in the home is something which many industries are keen to capitalise on. Naturally, this was showcased across ISH, with many manufacturers showing how household controls can be managed through apps and devices.
