Sentinel Commercial turn up the heat on energy and water saving

Promoting optimum energy efficiency in commercial heating systems is the primary focus of Sentinel Commercial’s presence at this year’s Energy & Environment Expo. The leading water treatment specialist will be demonstrating how high quality water treatment products and best practice processes can not only maximise energy savings in heating systems, but also help reduce carbon footprint, water consumption and maintenance costs, as well as provide long-term asset protection.

Show visitors to stand number N1700 will be able to get hands on with Sentinel Commercial’s KalGUARD water conditioning unit. This proven, industry-leading product uses Part L recommended electrolytic scale control technology to prevent limescale formation in commercial heating systems – an important consideration since just 1.6mm of limescale can reduce heating system efficiency by 12%*.

However, KalGUARD’s environmental credentials go way beyond energy saving – the WRAS-approved product saves around 920 litres of water a day in comparison with a typical mid-sized commercial salt-based water softener. In addition, KalGUARD requires no salt and needs only a bi-annual service check, while just one unit can treat a whole heating system when installed on a rising main before water storage tanks and booster sets.  As a result KalGUARD is installed in thousands of commercial properties in hard water areas across the country, including hundreds in major supermarket and hotel chains.

Sentinel Commercial’s new best practice initiative, the ‘Sentinel System’, will also take centre stage at the show. This easy-to-follow programme of 'clean, protect, maintain’ for heating and hot water systems is designed to simplify and evaluation and identification of correct water treatment chemicals and physical devices for each stage of the water treatment process, and to reinforce the importance of best practice procedures.

As always, Sentinel’s team of engineers, chemists and water treatment specialists will be on hand to discuss products and processes, ensuring end-users, specifiers and installers at the show can benefit from one-to-one advice.
